DAY 1
Sean and Jeff started out from Whitehaven on one of the wettest days in Cumbria this year. A Severe Weather Warning was issued this morning for high winds and heavy rain but I guess that was what the waterproofs were for!
The climb out of Whitehaven lasted for 8 Miles and took them over Whinlatter Pass at a hieght of 1043 feet above sea level.
The total distance covered in day 1 was 58.5 miles and by the end of it Sean said they had achieved "Soakem Equilibrium". I think he made this up but he said it meant they were as wet inside as they were outside.
A Steak and Chips meal and a good nights rest and they will be ready for Day 2..............hopefully!
